HR Presidential Suite are they well insulated?

Holiday Rambler does not give out R factors on the 2009 Presidential Suite. They do have dual pane windows but was wondering about how well they are insulated. Looking at going full time in about 2 years.

RE: TrailAir, Air Pin Box feedback needed

I installed a trailair a couple of years ago and it made a significant difference. I am sorry that I did not bite the bullet sooner to buy one. If you get one you will not be sorry.

Well it seems the list of things to plug into the truck when you are moving from site to site can get long. Here is my list:
Backup camera with monitor attached to windshield
GPS attached to windshield
xm satelite radio placed on dash.
ipod placed where it is convenient
Tire monitor system (not acquired yet but someday)
Cell phone (if it needs charging)
Do you have the same problem?

RE: No dual pane windows on Carri-Lite XTRM for full time

I contacted Carriage directly and the cost of dual pane windows would be $4,000 - $5,000. If they do all the work at their facility it would be around $11,000.
Not sure the price justifies going this route if I do decide to buy the fiver in question.
Driving up to the dealership on Monday with my wife to look at the used unit and also to see the 40th edition Carri-Lite.

No dual pane windows on Carri-Lite XTRM for full time

I am looking at a used (6weeks) 2008 Carri-Lite 36xtrm5...asking price $75,000, I know I can offer lower plus a dealer is handling this and will take my 2001 forest river wildcat as a trade lowering the price even more (hoping to get close to $60,000 final price). It has a 5500 generator, arizona room (skylights over dining table and couch) with awning, solar panels on top, 2nd a/c, satelite. The only problem or not is that there are no dual pane windows. Arizona room skylights are dual pane. Looking at this unit to full time in. Will I be ok?

RE: Good time to trade?

Curious as to what folks consider a good deal?
Can anyone be specific?
When I purchased my new F450 last month I got $6,500 in Ford incentives and a dealer discount of $4,500. I traded in my 1500 Silverado with Kelly Blue Book of $8,000 and received $7,000 for it.

Carriage website has wrong information

If any of you look at the Carriage website, I need to tell you that they labeled all the interior photos of the 2009 Carri-Lite incorrectly. They mixed up models and colors so be aware. Hopefully they will straighten this out on a timely basis.Click here

RE: 08 F 450 ?s

I have a brand new F450 and love it. Very comfortable inside, I pulled my Wildcat by Forest River and almost did not realize it was there. I got the big truck to pull a Carri-Lite when I trade up next year. Going to Myrtle Beach in two weeks and looking forward to the trip in the truck. I just have over 1,000 miles and without pulling I averaged 12 mpg. I have the 4.3 and 4X2.

RE: Anyone use faketv for security in their fiver?

Well what I was thinking when I found this device was.....
When my wife and I go for a walk after dinner I notice that I do not really hear radios in rv's. When we walk by different sites I definitely can see from the campground road a light flickering in a window telling me a tv is on. If I wanted to take something at least for me I would not even attempt to go into a campsite as noted.
I am not a gun person so I cannot relate to having one but again I was talking about not being at the site.
Tell a neighbor you are away...not sure of this one....tell them we are off to a movie....off to a restaurant.....off to shop....I am stretching this and personally when at a site you do get to know vehicles and folks around you so I do keep an eye out for strangers but doubt I would tell folks my every move.
Strange how threads turn out????

Anyone use faketv for security in their fiver?

I just found a website that has a device that simulates a tv being on. I have read threads about security before but have never heard of this. An interesting concept. I use timers for lights at home but this may be an addition for me when I am rving or for use in the rv when I am out at night. Here is the link to what I found for faketv

RE: 2 WD diesel gets more mileage?

I have a brand new Ford F450 4X2 and so far I am averaging 12 mpg, when I had my Silverado 1500 for the same type driving I averaged 15 mpg. I never had a 4X4 but others can tell you exactly the type of mileage they are getting.

RE: Any owners Holiday Rambler 5th Presidential Suite 2008 09

I have been in the Presidential Suite and really liked it but it has come in second as far as a choice to full time in....I am looking at the Carriage Carri-Lite. I'll make the big final choice this coming Spring. By the way I just bought a new Ford F450 to pull either one. Lots of luck.

RE: Pics. of my new Ford F450

Some info for you:
The first 500 miles I averaged 12mpg.
I had a Reese 20K hitch installed
.
I had a TransferFlow toolbox/tank combo installed.
Yesterday my tank hit 1/2 and all of a sudden the gas gauge started to go up just past 3/4....I love it.
The ride is great...at least to me.
When I open all the windows, the rear one and the sunroof as well I feel like I am in a convertible.
So far it is a great truck. have not broken 1,000 miles yet.
